Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific, Ltd.
Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific (MCAP) – Mitsui Chemicals Group of affiliates in Singapore completed a round of clean-up on 15 September 2022, at the Marina Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Singapore. 24 employees had participated in the 1.5 hours of clean-up exercise done using kayaks. A total of 28kg worth of trash were collected, made-up predominately by plastic wrappers, single-use bottles, and drinking cans. Due to the pandemic, several disposable masks were also picked up.
This clean-up exercise was also part of the clean-up efforts leading to the World Cleanup Day 2022, which fell on 17 September 2022.
To aid the clean-up effort, the companies had engaged Waterways Watch Society, to conduct both the educational talk and the kayaking clean-up.
Mitsui Chemicals Group Clean-up Caravan
The marquee Mitsui Chemicals Group Clean-up Caravan first started back in April 2019, with various affiliates around the World putting in their effort to help with area cleaning and prevent uncollected litter from being blown into rivers by the wind and eventually flow into the sea, exacerbating the problem of marine litter.
