Basic Information
Unistole™ is a primer and adhesive whose main component is a modified polyolefin in a liquid state.
The modified polyolefin is obtained by introducing functional groups into a base polyolefin using Mitsui Chemicals’ polymer modification technology.
These polyolefinic primers and adhesives can be used for coating and bonding polypropylene (PP) and a range of engineering plastics, rubber and other materials, which do not bond readily, and as adhesives to bond metals to polyolefins in automotive, packaging and paint applications.

Characteristics
Flexible at low temperatures
Versatile one-pack primer can improve coating application efficiency because it dries at normal temperatures, allowing “wet-on-wet” coating.
Excellent secondary adhesion
Remains flexible at low temperatures. Coated articles exhibit excellent flex resistance and impact resistance.
APPLICATIONS
Primer for coating and adhesives, food packaging, easy-peel packages, PTP packages, automobile parts, gravure coaters, roll coaters, sprays
Characteristics
UNISTOLE™ P
Liquid primer for coating and bonding polypropylene (PP) and a range of engineering plastics, rubber and other materials that do not bond readily.
UNISTOLE™ R, E
Modified polyolefin dispersed in hydrocarbon-based solvent used as an adhesive for bonding metals to polyolefins. Can also be used as a metal coating agent.
UNISTOLE™ XP, H
Varnish with non-chloric acidified polyolefin resin.
Can bind polar resins such as polyester and non-polar resins such as polyolefin, and can also be used as primer for painting on polyolefin resins that are usually hard to paint on.

UNISTOLE™ P Liquid Primer Characteristics
- An easily handled one-pack primer that dries at normal temperatures, so “wet-on-wet” coating is possible.
- Appropriate for coating and bonding almost all paints and adhesives and all types of PP.
- Suitable as a primer for coating and bonding engineering plastics such as nylon, polyester resin and FRP, rubbers such as EPDM, metals and other materials that do not bond readily.
- Possesses excellent secondary adhesion and excellent gasoline resistance.
- A UNISTOLE™ P coated film is flexible even at low temperatures, and articles coated in it exhibit excellent flex resistance and impact resistance.
UNISTOLE™ R, E Characteristics
- Excellent adhesion to various metals.
- Exceptional heat resistance and heat resistant adhesion.
- Superb resistance to retort treatment.
- Useable with simple equipment such as gravure coaters, roll coaters and sprays.
UNISTOLE™ XP, H Characteristics
- Excellent adhesion to various substrates: polyolefin, metals, polyester and etc.
- Excellent chemical resistance.
- Useable with simple equipment such as gravure coaters, roll coaters and sprays.
