The MCPT Study Award is designed with the aim of supporting polytechnic students with a keen interest to pursue a career in the chemical industry. This award provides these students the opportunity to join our group of companies in Singapore upon their graduation. During their final year Industrial Attachment, awardee(s) will be assigned to one of the sponsoring companies. These companies include three large-scale chemical processing plants located in Jurong Island. During the period of bond, they will also be given an opportunity to learn and acquire experience in Japan, on our latest cutting-edge technology in chemical process and safety.
Mitsui Chemicals Process Technology (MCPT) Study Award
Eligibility
The MCPT Study Award is open to Year 1 full-time undergraduates in selected chemical/chemistry-related fields from three local polytechnics:

Applicants should have a keen interest to work in the chemical process industry upon completion of their Diploma studies.
Study Award Period and Value of the Award
Successful candidates will be given support for two years of academic pursuit leading to a Polytechnic Diploma, or up to date of graduation, whichever is earlier.
The MCPT Study Award covers the following:
- Second and third year Polytechnic Diploma tuition fee and miscellaneous fee payable by Singapore Citizens of up to maximum of S$1,650 per semester (for first attempt),
- Stipend allowance of S$6,000 per annum or S$500 per month payable for the second and third year of Polytechnic Diploma studies,
- Airfare, and land transfers, between Singapore and Japan for the training trip to Japan during the bond period,
- Other approved expenses incurred during participation in programs and activities assigned by Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific (MCAP).
Service Commitment / Refund Option
Upon completion of the polytechnic studies, the awardee will be assigned to work in one of the sponsoring companies in Singapore for three years.
If the awardee decides to absolve himself / herself of the service commitment immediately after completion of the Polytechnic studies, he / she may opt instead to pay MCAP the total sum of benefits expended on the awardee.
