Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific (MCAP) had started the use of LinkedIn since 2017 to share on latest news and updates from Mitsui Chemicals head office in Japan. Prior to 2017, the use of LinkedIn was limited to recruitment activities, but had since moved towards a more professional-social approach. This change approach signalled a shifting trend in employer branding.

Starting from late 2018, an additional social networking site (SNS) was also adopted to showcase the people who are working under the Mitsui Chemicals Group umbrella – Instagram. Although Instagram is not new to the public, its growing number of users proves to be a suitable platform to share our people’s stories. The Instagram handler or account name is “peopleofmitsuichemicals”.

As for story-telling using videos, Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (MCI), the Japan head office, has been using Youtube videos to promote our products and history. Adding onto the list of videos, MCI also created a video channel to feature a day in a life of our staff from different parts of the World. This channel provides a glimpse to a typical day at work in different sites. The first episode was released in 2018 and the second episode is slated for release in early 2019.
