2019.02.19

Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific, Ltd.

Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific (MCAP) – In bid to reduce the carbon footprint and to lessen the need for hardcopy Curriculum Vitae (CV) submission for manual review, during the recent Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Career Fair 2019 on 12 February 2019, MCAP tapped on online platform for students and career-seekers at the event to submit their key CV details on an iPad online. At the event, participants can also scan a QR Code to access the online submission platform to send in the details on-the-go. The event was held at The Wave, NTU.

More than 70 job applications were received through the online submission platform.

This was the second time this method was adopted. It was first piloted during National University of Singapore (NUS) Career Fest 2018. The results were promising and with such adoption, hardcopy CVs were no longer required upfront for manual entry. The respective staff-in-charge of preliminary review can now use the softcopy data to filter out the key information for their shortlisting process. Suitable applicants will subsequently be informed to send in their softcopy CV upon notification.

Benefits of the brief CV online submission:

• Reduce the need to print hardcopy for students and career-seekers.
• Reduce manual review and data entry of information contain in the CVs
• Increase productivity significantly

Understanding the various compliance needs on potential discriminatory, only key information is received through the online submission platform. Information such as gender and age are omitted to ensure fairness in shortlisting process.
