Residents at Jamiyah Nursing Home (JNH) are experiencing dramatically enhanced views and reduced sun glare, thanks to Mitsui Chemicals Singapore R&D Centre's (MS-R&D) donation of 60 metres of posica™ kukkiri™ film. The June 2025 donation, currently being installed across two floors of wards, will transform the visual experience for residents by creating clear and vibrant window views.

This round of donation follows the earlier donation in May 2024, where the film was applied only to the Activity Room, and the subsequent trialed at two windows in the wards in November 2024. After noting positive feedback from JNH nursing staff regarding observable improvement in the residents' comfort levels, MS-R&D decided to also donate sufficient film to cover all the wards in level 2 and 3. A total of 10 wards will have the film applied to their windows.

The posica™ kukkiri™ film uses innovative technology to enhance colour saturation and create high-contrast views while eliminating uncomfortable sun glare. Cutting out 99% of UV rays, it addresses critical comfort challenges in tropical climates. For many elderly residents, particularly those with limited mobility or cognitive decline, the ability to enjoy clearer, brighter views enhanced their comfort. Also, the reduced glare fosters a calmer environment, supporting mental well-being and reinforcing the dignity and care that JNH strives to uphold.

Through this donation, we hope that residents in JNH can enjoy a better Quality of View while indoors. We also hope to raise awareness about the beneficial use of posica™ kukkiri™ film in healthcare and caregiving facilities.
