Mitsui Chemicals Provides Support to Victims of Heavy Rain in Northern Kyushu

2019.09.05

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Tokyo: 4183; President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) would like to offer its deepest condolences to those who passed away recently amid the heavy rainfall in Northern Kyushu, as well as to the families of these victims. The company also extends its sympathy to all who have been affected by the disaster.

To help support the victims of the disaster as well as the affected area more generally, Mitsui Chemicals has responded to an appeal from the Social Emergency Management Alliance (SEMA)※1 and supplied relevant company products to Omachi Town, Kishima District, Saga Prefecture.

Further, Mitsui Chemicals has responded to a request from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s (MLIT) Kyushu Regional Development Bureau. Looking here to prevent the flow of oil from Saga Prefecture’s Rokkaku River out into the Ariake Sea, Mitsui Chemicals’ Omuta Works has supplied the likes of its TAFNEL™ Oil Blotter™ to the Omachi Precinct of the Kitou Fire Department.

Mitsui Chemicals hopes that its efforts here will help to get the affected area back on its feet as soon as possible.
